Call out diaries okay?

Funny, I thought call out diaries were strictly forbidden here, and often deleted. So how is it that a diary that's only intent is to call out multiple users of both mydd and dailykos and sow division among progressive bloggers still a few down there on the recent list. Are there going to be weekly "what they say over at dKos" diaries here that call out comments users make on another site. The daily Dailkos watch! Just look what they're saying, how horrid, they are not one of us. Shun Them Shun Them!
How childish. A diary like that does very little to advance any cause of the democratic party, or draw attention to important issues. It doesn't do anything to help anyones candidate, yet someone took the time to wade through dozens of comments and throw them together in a call out diary for what?
I imagine this very diary will be deleted shortly, as it could be considered a call out diary, we'll see if the other is deleted as well.

Who knows, it came up in the middle of the night so that might have given it a little breathing room.  I would agree that the whole exercise was pretty sad.

Who cares? (2.00 / 1)

That was a stupid diary, as are most call-out diaries. And most folks here see them as such and don;t recommend those juvenile "Nyah, nyah" posts.

I know most do Bob, and I really don't care except that it was allowed to stand, that's all.

Re: Who cares? (2.00 / 1)

It was a perfectly reasonable diary. If you say stupid things you deserve to be called on them.

Let the thought police have its fifteen minutes of fame. After all, the guy put a reasonable amount of effort into it, even if he missed some of the real gems.

Re: Oh, come on. (2.00 / 2)

MBYNC is in fact one of the leading members of the thought police over at Kos. So he aught to know. Call outs are fine. If posters produce rants, intellectually incoherent bs, or inanities generally they should be called on it. If you can't stand the heat etc.

how about you hop into your flying delorien, you know the one you use to tell as a fact that Obama will lose, go back in time and convince Hillary not to vote for AUMF and bankruptcy bill and Kyl-Liebernman. Then when you come back to our time,  Hillary might be winning.

Yup. (2.00 / 1)

Of course, you were memorably banned from the Great Orange Satan for this gem:

The AIPAC tendency at DK

We all know who AIPAC is. We all know that it exercises a generally malign influence on the conduct of US foreign policy or at the very least distorts it in ways that operate against US interests. We all know that the moment anyone questions it's influence or the influence of the Jewish lobby in general they are immediately attacked as anti Semitic.

Yeah, rants about the "Jewish lobby" will bring out the troll patrol, every time. Especially when the ostensible subject of the diary is the Des Moines Register's Clinton endorsement.

Re: Yup. (2.00 / 2)

You presumably don't agree that AIPAC exercises a generally malign influence on US foreign policy.
This is little posting by MYNBC is actually a very good mirror into these folks thought patterns. In making any general argument the use of certain words is forbidden. One can't call AIPAC  a representative of a certain strain of thought in the Jewish community in America. Mark that here we are not using any of the pejoratives that are not uncommon parlance in the street talk in America we are using a using an expression I have seen used a thousand times in papers in Foreign Affairs journal and elsewhere but these people can't handle it. They are basically Stalinist in outlook.

Damn right. (none / 0)

If you want to go howling about freedom of speech over "the Jewish lobby", be my guest. But I'll have something to say about it, as will the many Kossacks that posted in that diary.

That crap belongs on Stormfront, not a Progressive blog. And you might want to be slightly less condescending, given that you've now shown that you don't understand the difference between "the Israel lobby" and "the Jewish lobby".

Eh, why do I even bother?

Re: Damn right. (2.00 / 1)

Actually I recently read a load of pieces about different elements of the Jewish lobby, in which the phrase was used repeatedly btw, which were provoked by the creation of a new more liberal leaning group which was endeavoring to present a more balanced take on the Israeli/Palestinian struggle than does AIPAC. And I understand full well the many strands that make up Jewish opinion in America having been a supporter of Zionism all my life. The intemperance of your comments leads me to suspect that in fact you are indeed a strong supporter of AIPAC and this is the problem. As an American I'm not.

Okay. (none / 0)

There's a choice to make here: either, I am going to go into all the many ways your statements are borderline bigotry, and garnish that with observations why they're also factually false. There's no gray area here: you're just wrong.

Or I can just dare you to post your sentiments in Jerome's next diary about Israel and Palestine; he just returned from a visit there, and would no doubt be interested in hearing your take on the Jewish lobby.

Re: Call out diaries okay? (none / 0)

Why are the Kos crowd so against the first amendment. I see no problem with hitting posters with their own words, anyone can do it with me.

erm (none / 0)

hitting somebody with their own words is against the first amendment???

Re: erm (none / 0)

You haven't perhaps spent some time at Kos. Suppression of dissent is fairly normal. Dissenters are driven out or sent to the Gulag. Actually I seem to vaguely remember Kos saying one time he had the right to suspend the good old First. Even Scalia would draw the line at that. Maybe.

have you ever been a Gulag? You seem to be childish enough to compare an online community with freezing in Siberia doing hard labor?

Cause you know KOs an Gulag are EXACTLY the same.

Re: I see... (2.00 / 1)

Maybe the subtleties of language escape you but Gulag has become a metaphor for certain types of actions. If you don't know what a metaphor is look it up. This sort of absurd monomaniacal literalism is fairly typical of Kos thought. They can't debate in a rational way.

Really?  Because I see a fair amount of Clinton supporters there these days, and even a rec'd diary criticizing Kos's stance on Obama's appearance on Fox News.  Your hyperbole is actually quite comical.

Please, I never said that it was 50/50.  Of course, I also didn't portray it as some Soviet gulag.  Both this site and DKos have pluses and minuses, but I'm not blind to the shortcomings of either.

Re: Call out diaries okay? (2.00 / 1)

The diarist broke the rules by calling out members of this community in his diary. But he provides evidence that there are some Kossacks here merely to  be divisive, rather than to engage in honest debate. I see that I've misjudged the sincerity of a few people here.

Re: Call out diaries okay? (none / 0)

No, call out diaries are not OK here.

Actually, this diary will not be deleted because this is not technically a call out diary. No where in the diary does it say "(Blogger Name) is an idiot."

If you want your diary to be deleted, next time entitle your diary "Zzyzzy is an idiot." Then you might get banned.

From my experience, call out diaries are OK on the Kos as long as you are on the "correct" side.
